LEGISLATIVE PROVISIONS REGARDING THE USE OF DRONES
This equipment is classified as civil aircraft, and its use in national airspace is subject to compliance with specific regulations (Aviation Code, art. 3.7 and 3.8, Section II “Terms and definitions”, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems RPAS or “drones”).
According to the law, this flight equipment must be registered with the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority (AACR). Flying the drone without registration at AACR entails criminal liability for the operator. Unauthorized flight (without airspace segregation or COAP notification, as applicable) is punishable by a fine.
